Paanyaya para sa susunod na Sangandiwa worksyap (Araling Bayan/Lokal)

Sa aking pakikinig, pakikipagpalitang-kuro, pagninilay-nilay, at pagbabagong-isip, naramdaman ko at maging ninyo marahil, ang sarap at ligayang pakiramdam. Pinagdiriwang natin ang pagsasama-sama natin sa akademya, ang pagsasanib ng ating adbokasiya’t pilosopiya sa buhay at para sa bayan. Nagsasaya ang pakiramdam natin dahil may karamay pala tayo: mga kasamang batikang iskolar, gradwadong kalahok, guro’t mag-aaral – tayong mga potensyal at aktuwal na publikong intelektuwal. Nag-uumapaw ang saya natin, mula sa tinig sa loob, pumapalakpak ang ating damdamin at isip, nagsasama’t nakikipag-ulayaw. Ngayon, ayaw ko sanang maging sentimental at anti-climactic. Subalit, hanggang saan ang pagsasaya ng mga nagsasama’t nagkakatipon-tipon na mga intelektuwal? Hanggang kailan ang animo’y personal at publikong selebrasyong ito? Sa pagsasara ng telon, sa paglabas natin sa bulwagang ito, nawa’y huwag mawaglit kaagad ang saya’t tagumpay, nawa’y huwag kaagad maimbak bilang ‘imaginary’ at mauwi sa depositong ‘unconscious’ ang lahat ng selebrasyong ito. Palagay ko paglabas natin, parang pag-ahon mula sa trance, pagmalik-mata sa tunay na realidad: dumadagsa ang maraming konsern – pagpasa ng grades, lessons mamaya, assignment bukas, research sa URCO, resulta ng teachers’ evaluation, pagyayaya ni boyfriend/girlfriend, paglalabada, pamamalantsa, lahat-lahat ng totoong takbo ng realidad natin bilang iskolar/intelektuwal. Gayonpaman, panandalian man ang kasiyahan sa ganitong pagtitipon at bagaman nasasadlak tayo lagi’t lagi sa pang-araw-araw na realidad, maaari nating subersibong  baligtarin ang lahat. Gawin nating ‘imaginary’ at ‘unconscious’, ‘pahiwatig’, ‘pistang-laway’ at ‘pistang-isip’ ang nauna, at gawin nating makabuluhan ang dapat nating ipagdiriwang at ikatitipon sa labas, sa malawak na sakop at saklaw ng realidad. Gawin nating araw-araw ang pakikipag-ulayaw sa bayan at sambayanan. Gawin nating kongkreto ang bansa sa ating isipan, huwag laging maging hiraya’t pangarap lamang ito. Naniniwala ako, sa ating lahat ng pangarap, adbokasiya’t pananaw sa buhay, ngunit ano ang sagot sa tanong na kailan ako magsisimula? Ano ang tamang panahon? Ang kairos, ika nga, kailan ito magaganap?

Ang bawat araw, araw-araw, natin sa mundong ito, sa realidad na ito, sa lipunang ito, ang laging tamang panahon. Sa madaling salita, ngayon – at sa mga ngangayunin pa – ang  panahon ng tamang pagkilos.
